18 March 1926 - West Branch Times

William T. Casey, a prominent and popular farmer living west of town, died at an Iowa City hospital at 11 o'clock Sunday night, a victim of a recurrent heart ailment which he had suffered for the last two years. Early in January he was confined to his bed but left it to take part in the campaign for good roads, in which he was intensely interested.

Immediately after election day he returned to bed; later he was removed to a hospital where his condition daily became worse until he succumbed.

Mr. Casey was born in Scott township, Johnson county, January 14th, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Casey, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was married to Miss Agnes Donohoe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Donohoe of Holbrook, Iowa, and the couple took up their residence on a farm in Scott township, where they had since resided.

The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church Thursday morning at 9:00 o'clock. Interment in St. Joseph's cemetery, Iowa City.

Besides his wife, Mr. Casey is survived by four brothers, Mr. Steve Casey from Miami, Fla.; Ed. P. Casey of Denver, Colo.; and Bernard and Lawrence Casey of Iowa City. Three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. F. S. Barnes, Mrs. Paul Read and Mrs. Thomas Farrell all of Iowa City.
