At one o'clock Monday afternoon occurred the funeral of A. E. Westenhaver, one of the pioneer residents of Johnson county.

Death came to the aged pioneer at Oskaloosa last Friday, Jan. 11, 1901, where Mr. Westenhaver was visiting his sons now in business in that city. He was ill but a few hours, death resulting from heart disease, with which he was afflicted.

The deceased was an old time resident of Johnson county, having come here from Ohio in 1860. He was 68 years of age and a prominent farmer and stock raiser, but of late years lived a life of retirement in Iowa City.
