Barbara Ann Langenberg, 80, passed away Friday, July 13th at the Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center where she had resided for several years. She was a lifelong resident of Iowa City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with Father Stephen Witt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. on Monday, July 16th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center.

While Barbara spent the last few years in the care center, she never gave up her passions. She and Judy Kinnamon, her best friend, were the Chicago Cubs #1 fans and never missed watching a game. She loved to play Bingo, Yahtzee and Scrabble with her family and friends.

When the opportunity arose, she delighted partaking in trips shopping and of course to casinos. On occasion, she enjoyed a bus trip to Kansas City to visit her sister and family.

She will be missed by many. We find comfort in knowing she is out of pain and in our Heavenly Father’s arms.

Barbara is survived by her siblings: William (Ruth) Langenberg, Marian (Richard) Murphy, Paul Langenberg, James (Linda) Langenberg, Donald (Diane) Langenberg, Eugene “Gene” (Rose) Langenberg, Judith (Jim) Beaty and her best friend, Judy Kinnamon. 19 nieces and nephews and many friends also survive Barbara.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Laura (Slavata) Langenberg and her sister-in-law, Ann Langenberg.
