Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gibson returned Monday afternoon from Iowa City where they had attended the funeral of Mr. Gibson's mother, Mrs. Virginia Dille. Mrs. Dille passed away Thursday evening at 5 o'clock at her home in the west side in Iowa City. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

She was formerly Miss Virginia Singleton, and was born in Hampshire county, Virginia, August 5, 1839, nearly 85 years ago. She came to Johnson county when she was 16, accompanying her father, John Singleton, and she has lived there ever since, in or near Iowa City. She married Byron Gibson in 1860, and Mr. I.B. Dille in 1888. They passed away in 1869 and 1901, respectively.

Surviving are four sons, Frank and J. Lee Gibson, Iowa City; William Gibson, Pekin, Ill.; and Louis Gibson, West Branch. Also mourning are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and three sisters and four brothers--Mesdames Laura Chase, Iowa City; George Pinney, Sharpsburg, Iowa; and Sallie Alcorn, Oklahoma; and Messrs Loxley and Henry Singleton of South Dakota; and Clay Singleton, Bedford, Iowa; and George Singleton, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Dille was a member of the Methodist church, and a woman of deep religious convictions and noble heart.
