Services Today For Mrs. E. Niffenegger

Mrs. Emma Niffenegger, 77, died at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Mercy hospital in Iowa City following an illness of several weeks.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Snider, she was born June 29, 1864 in Sharon township. She was a lifelong resident of Johnson County.
On January 10, 1884 she was married to Ulrich S. Niffenegger and they lived on a farm north-east of Kalona until moving to Iowa City 13 years ago. Her husband died March 18, 1938.
Mrs. Niffenegger was a member of the Sharon Evangelical church and the women's Missionary society of the church.
Surviving are four sons, Clarence of West Chester, Lee, Floyd and Roscoe of Kalona, one foster daughter, Mrs. Everett Diehl of Iowa City, three sisters, Mrs. Delia Hartman of the Dalls, Oregon; Mrs. Albert Fry of Lamont and Mrs. Phil Wagner of Hawkeye; two brothers Joseph of Iowa City and Lee of Fredericksburg. 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Sharon Evangelical church with Rev. G. L. Alderman in charge. Burial was made in the Sharon Cemetery. Pall Bearers were Art Ressler, Will Snider, John Winborn, Omar Yoder, Walter Weeber and Levi Stutzman.
