Mrs. William Ten Eick passed away last Friday evening about five o'clock at her home in Scott township, Johnson county. She had been in poor health a long time, and the end was not unexpected.

She was one of Johnson county's early settlers, having lived there sixty-one years.

Mrs. Ten Eick was born in Ohio, and was in her 76th year. Surviving are her husband, three sons and one daughter--Matt and Joseph at home, Edward of Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Mead of West Liberty.

Her maiden name was Margaret Hunter, and George Hunter of West Branch is a brother, James Hunter of Boone is also a brother. Mr. Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. James Hunter were with her when she passed away.

Lemuel Hunter of Iowa City, is also a brother. Joseph Hunter, a fourth brother, was mysteriously killed by a fall from a train or otherwise, it will be recalled, in Idaho, earlier in the current year. William Hunter, a fifth brother, was killed while serving his country during the Civil War. Mrs. J. D. Hill, a sister, died a few years ago.

The funeral services were held privately from her late home in Scott township, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., on account of the illness of her husband. Public services at 3:00 p.m. at the Brick Chapel.
