Rites are Held for Mrs. Myrtle Jacob Today At Sharon

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Edith Jacob were held today at the Evangelical church, Sharon, at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Mrs. Jacob died last Saturday morning.

The Rev. W. S. Ellerbeck of the Sharon church and the Rev. Raymond Ludwigson were in charge of services. Burial was made in the Sharon cemetery.

Hold Rites For Mrs. Jacobs Tuesday

Mrs. Gideon Jacobs of Sharon died last Saturday, August 14 at the Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following an illness of several months.

Myrtle Edith Duebell Jacobs was [sic] February 3, 1876 the daughter of Susan and the late William Duebell. On January 1, 1900 she was married to Gideon Jacobs at Iowa City and they lived in Sharon township for 35 years.

She was educated in the Iowa City schools and taught in the district schools of Johnson county for several years. She was a member of the Christian church in Iowa City and later transferred her membership to the Sharon Evangelical church where she taught the Ladies Bible class for many years and was an active member of the Woman's Missionary Society.

Besides her husband she is survived by her mother who is 91 years old, four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gribell of Tustin, Michigan, Ruth and Ruby Jacobs of Cadillac, Michigan, and Dorothy at home; two sons, William Jacobs of Iowa City and Charles Jacobs, U. S. Navy, San Diego, California. One daughter, Mrs. Edith Gribbel, preceded her in death in 1932 and 2 sisters died in childhood.

Funeral services were held at the Sharon Evangelical church at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the pastor Rev. W. S. Ellerbeck and the Rev. R. Ludwigson of the Iowa City Christian church in charge.

Burial was made in the Sharon cemetery. Casket bearers were Levi Stutsman, Henry Ressler, Art Ressler, Henry Strickler, Walter Weeber and Wilson Miller.
