Sarah Nicole Temple Nessler, 19, of Coralville died Friday, August 15, 2003, from injuries received in an auto accident at Washington County Hospital.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Sharon Center United Methodist Church, 2804 520th St. S.W., Kalona, with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Burial will be in the Sharon Center Cemetery, rural Kalona.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund will create a trust fund for her daughter, Kaia Spradling.
Miss Nessler was born June 2, 1984, in Iowa City to Scott and Kathy Carlson of rural Kalona. She attended Mid-Prairie High School and graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2002 and was enrolled in Kirkwood College at the present time. She was a full time student and had worked at Diamond Dave's for 1 1/2 years. She was a member of United Action for Youth and attended Sharon Center United Methodist Church. She loved music and drama.
Survivors include her daughter, Kaia Shane Spradling of Coralville; her parents, Scott and Kathy Carlson of rural Kalona; siblings Cassie and Zach Carlson of Kalona and Aaron and Ian Nessler of West Branch; maternal grandparents Nancy Temple of Coralville and Don Temple of Davenport; paternal grandparents, Jackie and Darrell Nessler of Traer; paternal grandparents Sonny and Helen Carlson of Anamosa; great-grandmothers, Ida Bigger of Springville, Helen Carlson of Anamosa and Elsie Nessler of Waterloo; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Her maternal great-grandparents and paternal great-grandfathers died earlier.
