Robert (Bob) Franklin Moore was born in Limestone, Tennessee, the son of Hubert and Tilda Holt Moore. He attended school in Limestone and attended Sharon High School, Sharon Center, Iowa.
Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the European Theater with the 75th Infantry. Bob received The Bronze Star for his service in the Battle of the Bulge and crossing the Rhine.
Bob and Doris Grout were married at the South Sharon (Grout) Church on April 9, 1950. Bob was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church.
The couple farmed in the rural community until retiring from their farm west of Iowa City and moving to Kalona in 1996.
Bob was a proud family man and is survived by his wife, Doris, a daughter and son-in-law Diane and Keith Davisson of Kalona and one son, Dean of Coralville. Diane and Keith have two children Dana and husband Nathan Smith and Ross Davisson. Dana and Nathan are the parents of Bob's great granddaughter, Delaney. Also surviving are one sister, Louise Williams of Limestone, TN. and two brothers, Alpha and Wade of Greenville, TN.
A memorial fund has been established for the Johnson County Hospice or Sharon Center Untied Methodist Church.
The family wishes to tank everyone who has been so supportive during Bob's illness and at this time of their loss.
