Helen Weeber, 84
M. Helen Weeber, 84, of rural Iowa City, died Tuesday, June 11, 2001, at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Peterseim Funeral Home. The family will be present at this time. Memorials may be made to the Sharon Center United Methodist Church building fund or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Weeber was born July 9, 1917, in Iowa City to John T. and Mary (Eisenhofer) Maier. She attended rural schools in Johnson County. She married Harold Weeber on Dec. 31, 1937, in Belle Plaine. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and card clubs.
Survivors include her husband; one son and his wife, Tom and Marjorie Weeber of Iowa City; one sister and her husband, Frances and Bob Milder of West Liberty; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Five sisters, Edith Stover, Matilda McCreedy, Lillian Spenner, Loretta Maier and Agnes Klaus; and two brothers, Anton Maier and William Maier, died earlier.
