Beverly Catherine Newman, 74, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully Friday, January 19, 2018 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 AM at the church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Beverly Newman Memorial Fund.

Beverly was born on May 14, 1944 in Carroll, IA the daughter of Alfred and Arlene (Ford) Hannasch. She was united in marriage to Michael Newman on June 21, 1970 in Carroll, IA. Beverly worked for Hardees, NCS, ACT and Sears Auto Department. She enjoyed playing pogo games and watching television. Beverly especially enjoyed spending time with her dog Frankie and Johnny.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Newman; two children, David Newman (Melissa Close) of Iowa City, and Dan Newman (Jennifer) of Altoona, IA; and 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Cael Newman.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Arlene Hannasch.
