Sharon Kay “Sherry” Hart, 74, of Iowa City, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Mercy Hospice Unit. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be held two hours prior at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Fairfield Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Sherry was born on April 20, 1943 in Muscatine, IA the daughter of Clifford L. Paul and Roberta R. Renner. She married Thomas Hart on January 5, 2008, in their home with friends and family, he preceded her in death on February 15, 2015. She was a head baker at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and later the Oak Dale Correctional Center, Coralville, IA. Sherry retired from Northwest Junior High in food service. She loved gardening, cooking, baking and fishing. The love of Sharon’s heart was Missy Mae her baby dog. Most of all she wants to thank all her dearest friends and family for being there when she needed them the most.

Survivors include her brother, Garry (Bonnie) Paul of Muscatine, IA; step-daughter, Cindy
(Russ) Phelps of Iowa City; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; step-son, Chuck; and long-time companion, Gerald “Jerry” Jerrel.

Sherry would like to thank Dr. Clayman, Dr. Shariff and the staff at The University of Iowa Cancer Unit for their excellent care. Also Iowa City Hospice for their excellent care.
