At Iowa City, last Friday evening, Peter Lutz, who was selling tickets for a Catholic fair, and George Mayweather, colored, who was selling tickets to a colored peopleís festival, came into collision, and Lutz struck the colored man. The latter immediately went across the street to his shop, got a razor, returned, made a desperate dash at Lutzís throat, inflicting a terrible gash along the jawbone down the neck, penetrating the lungs between his ribs. The doctor pronounced Lutzís wounds fatal. Mayweather was placed in jail to await the result of Lutzís injuries.
