Note: Buried in Lot 1st.048. Although his obituary says he was an Air Force Veteran, his gravestone notes he was in the U. S. Army. Military records note he served from 1943 - 1949, during which time the Air Force was part of the Army (as the U. S. Army Air Force); after WWII, they became separate military divisions. Initial enlistment shows he was Regular Army, in the Quartermaster Corps. Wife Liivi died in 2013 in Burlington, IA, and was cremated; what became of her ashes is not known at the time of this posting but she is not noted as being buried in Evergreen with Eugene.
