Sebring, Fla.

Karen R. GEYSBEEK, 86, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Lockridge, IA, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Sebring, FL.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Good News Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Memorials may be given to ELWA Hospital, Liberia through SIM-USA, Box 7900, Charlotte, NC 28241-7900.

Karen was born May 14, 1936, in Canton, IL, to Dale and Dorothy BUCKMAN McLAIN. She married Lawrence E. "Larry" GEYSBEEK in Monrovia, Liberia, 1975. Karen graduated from Lockridge High School, Graham Hospital School of Nursing, Canton IL, and Bob Jones University. She worked at Jefferson Co. Hospital before going to Africa. She served as a missionary with Sudan Interior Mission at ELWA Hospital in Liberia and Galmi Hospital Niger Republic and Sim Retirement Village, Sebring, FL, for 26 years.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Tim (Tami) GEYSBEEK, Tom (Lori) GEYSBEEK, Phil (Sue) GEYSBEEK, Grand Rapids and Ruth (Art) HEDGAHL of New Delhi, India; her mother, Dorothy McLAIN, Fairfield; sisters, Dianne (Leo) BROKKEN, Martha (Bob) HENDERSON, Becky (Jim) SCHWARZ of Fairfield area, and Judy (Bruce) MAYER, Penn; brothers, John (Pat) McLAIN, Lockridge and Ronald McLAIN, Sarasota, FL; and 18 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father and brother, David.
