J. C. DROZ STRICKEN BY HEART ATTACK AT ALBIA

J. C. DROZ, 308 W. Hempstead street, suffered a heart attack yesterday while visiting in Albia. Mr. DROZ was stricken at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert KASOWSKI (sic - KASOWSKY).

Mr. DROZ, 81, had been in good health prior to the attack. His condition is considered serious.

DEATH TAKES JOSEPH DROZ

Joseph C. DROZ, 81, retired Jefferson county farmer and stockman, passed away this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna KASOWSKY, in Albia.

Mr. DROZ had been visiting in Albia for the past two weeks. He suffered a severe stroke five days ago. The body was brought to the Hoskins Funeral home in Fairfield today and will be taken to the KASOWSKY home in Albia Wednesday morning. It will be returned to Fairfield Thursday when the Rosary will be recited at Hoskins Funeral home at 8 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's church in charge of the Rev. Father C. F. DeCoursey. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. DROZ was born Feb. 2, 1868 in Jefferson county, the son of George and Virginia DROZ. He was married to Margaret DILLON Feb. 27, 1900 at Mt. Sterling, Ill. Mr. DROZ spent most of his life in Jefferson county. He lived for many years on a farm southeast of Fairfield. He was a member of St. Mary's church in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife and four children, Albert DROZ, Barrington, Ill., Mrs. Anna KASOWSKY, Albia; Mrs. Margaret MOYER, White Bear Lake, Minn.; and Joseph E. DROZ of Chillicothe, Ohio. Two sisters, Mrs. John CAMPBELL, Ft. Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Anna SHAEFER, Eugene, Oregon, and eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
