DR. A. J. DROZ DIED IN CHICAGO
Following Operation On Saturday; Was A Former Fairfield Resident

Dr. A. J. DROZ, well known physician of Washington, and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George A. DROZ of this city, died today noon in a hospital in Chicago, after undergoing an operation for gall stones Saturday. He came through the operation in good condition, but his heart was unable to withstand the shock of the operation.

Dr. DROZ would have been 53 years of age in June (sic - 54). He is survived by his wife who was formerly Miss Clara HAMILTON of Keota, and two children: Keith, who is studying medicine at the University Medical college at Iowa City and Miss Virginia, who is now attending high school at Keota. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John ROTH, Frank M. DROZ, Joseph C. DROZ, Mrs. Frank P. WITKOSKI of Fairfield, Mrs. John CAMPBELL of Birmingham and Mrs. Frank SCHAFER of Eugene, Ore.

Burial To Be In The DROZ Family Lot In Evergreen Cemetery Here

The last rites for Dr. A. J. DROZ, well known Washington surgeon who was born and reared on a farm 5 miles southeast of Fairfield, and who died in Chicago Wednesday noon will be held tomorrow morning at 9 oclock from St. James Catholic church in Washington. Rev. O. J. McGuire will be celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass with Rev. Bernard Decker of Keota as deacon and Rev. J. H. Courtney of East Pleasant Plain as sub-deacon. The funeral party will then drive to Fairfield for burial in the DROZ lot in Evergreen cemetery, probably arriving here about 12 oclock.

If the weather and roads do not permit of travel the body will be brought here Sunday morning on the train.

Mr. and Mrs. John ROTH, Mr. and Mrs. Leland S. Bradshaw, MRs. Joseph C. DROZ, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. DROZ and Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. WITKOSKI and Mrs. John CAMPBELL will go to Washington tomorrow morning to attend the services. Miss Claribel Roth of Chicago will go to Washington tonight for the funeral.
