Sister Of Fairfield Man Fatally Injured

A sister of Dr. F. S. BONNELL, Fairfield, passed away in the Burlington hospital about 3 p.m. yesterday from injuries she received when she was hit by a car at a Burlington crossing a few hours earlier (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

She is Mrs. Claudia CUMMINGS, 73, who is well known by many Fairfield residents.

Last rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Burlington. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.

Mrs. CUMMINGS was hit by a car yesterday morning driven by a 17-year-old youth. Police said the impact hurled the woman 60 feet. She was rushed to the Burlington hospital where she passed away yesterday afternoon.

Note: Buried in Lot 4th.020. She was married twice, first to John Frank JARVIS in 1895, and second to Joseph R. CUMMINGS in 1915. She is buried with her daughter from the CUMMINGS marriage, Marguerite Grace CUMMINGS.
