HAROLD "WINDY" JAMISON

Harold (Windy) JAMISON, 90, passed away at the Sunnybrook Living Care Center on Sunday, November 18, 2018 surrounded by his family. As were Harold's wishes his body has been cremated. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at the Birmingham United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Kathryn Hart officiating.

A luncheon will be held in the basement of the church immediately following the memorial service. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril, IA (note: in Van Buren Co., IA) at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Harold's honor may be directed to the Birmingham Log Cabin Fundraiser or to the family for a memorial to be placed at the Riverview Golf Course in Keosauqua in memory of Harold. Harold was born in Cantril Iowa to Ralph Lloyd JAMISON and Helen WEYER JAMISON. He graduated from Cantril High School in 1945. Harold served in the Navy during World War II from 1945 to 1946 and the Army during the Korean conflict from 1953 to 1954. In 1953, he married Joan DUMMETT and had two daughters. In 1986, he married Barbara KELLER, adding 6 step children. Harold worked as a barber and as the Iowa State Liquor Store Manager in Keosauqua for many years. He retired from the Jefferson County Soil Conservation Service in 1992. He also served on the Van Buren Selective Service Board for 20 years.

Hobbies included golfing, painting, repairing old cemetery stones and painting barn quilts. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the many caregivers that Harold had over the last few years. A special thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and compassion.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Craig and Robert.

Left to honor his memory is his wife Barbara; sister Vivian RINABERGER, sister-in-law Irene JAMISON, stepsister Marcia McLELAND (Joe). Children, Jody GUNN and Julie (Doug Horras), Susan MUNTZ (Rusty), Bob KELLER (Connie), Patty HARWARD (Roger), Dawn BENTZINGER (Kevin), Mike KELLER (Tammy) and Mary KLEIN. Harold was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
