CAROL LOVEDY
Douds

Carol LOVEDY, 74, of Douds, Iowa passed away on November 2, 2018 at Keosauqua Health Care Center (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). She was born on May 6, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin to Dorothy BORQUEST PHILLIPS. She married Larry LOVEDY in 1960 in Fairfield, Iowa. Together Larry and Carol raised two sons, Ken and Alan and were parents to a foster daughter, Shirley HASKENS.

Carol was a homemaker, she enjoyed doing crafts and painting. She painted china, sweatshirts, t-shirts and landscaping bricks. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Douds and once active in Christ United Methodist Church. She was a very giving person who enjoyed meeting new people and making conversation with everyone around her. Carol especially enjoyed children and her beloved cat, Joey. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She is surived by her husband, Larry; two sons, Ken (Bonita) LOVEDY of Fairfield, Iowa, Alan LOVEDY (Barb COOKSEY) of Ottumwa, Iowa; a foster daughter, Shirley HASKENS of Swainsboro, Georgia; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy PHILLIPS.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Pedrick Funeral Home - Douds with Pastor Phil Campbell officiataing. Visitation with family present will begin at 10:00 a.m and continue until the time of the service at Pedrick Funeral Home - Douds. A luncheon will follow the service at the Douds Community Center.

Memorial contributions in Carol's honor may be made to Bethel Worship Center or Christ United Methodist Church and can be left at the funeral home or mailed to PO Box 7, Douds, Iowa 52551. Online condolences may be directed to www.pedrickfuneralhome.com.
