Mrs. BOOS dies at 84

Ellen S. BOOS, 84, of the Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa, former Jefferson County resident, died Wednesday at 9:17 a.m. in the Ottumwa Hospital (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa with the Rev. Ralph D. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa.

Mrs. BOOS was born April 22, 1897 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Nicholas and Amanda PIERSON (sic - PEARSON) JOHNSON. She had lived in Ottumwa since 1947 and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa. She married Clarence W. BOOS March 14, 1918 at Lockridge. He died in 1973 (sic - Feb. 4, 1973).

Surviving are two sons, Roger of rural Agency, Merle of Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Marjory FITZGERALD of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one sister, Esther TURNER of Burlington.
