The spirit of St. Nicholas lived on in Nicholas Henry JOHNSON of the Lockridge community. Named for the patron saint and giver of gifts, "Grandpa" JOHNSON who was born in Skona, Sweden and who passed away Easter-Sunday at the age of eighty-eight, had given away many gifts during his lifetime. He had helped those in need to get ahead and given a gift to others who were in trouble. "If you can't say something good of someone, don't say anything at all" was his motto. Always deeply interested in the significance of the Easter season, it seems particular fitting that his life should run its course on that holiday.
