PECK Funeral Will Be Friday

Last rites will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. for Mrs. Adam PECK, former well known resident of the Pleasant Plain community.

The services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Henry B. Geer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at the Raymond Funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the church at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Mrs. PECK passed away about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Link Nursing home at Des Moines. She had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law in Des Moines for the past few years. She came to Fairfield some time ago to visit her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clem PECK, 301 W. Kirkwood. While there she fell and broke her hip five weeks ago.

She was a patient in the Jefferson County hospital until she was returned to Des Moines Oct. 10.

Mary Magdalene PECK, 87, was born March 9, 1872, in Michigan, the daughter of Jacob and Barbara BENDA PACHA. She came to Jefferson county with her parents when a small child. She was united in marriage on April 10, 1894, to Adam PECK who preceded his wife in death on Oct. 6, 1955. Three sons, three brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain and a member of the Rosary society.

Mrs. PECK is survived by five sons: Ed and Walter, both of Pleasant Plain; Clement and Ambrose, both of Fairfield; and Ray, Salt Lake City, Utah; and one daughter, Mrs. John J. (Irene) POWERS, Des Moines.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe PACHA, Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth BENDA, Iowa City; Mrs. Christina ANDERLIK, Iowa City; Bertha PACHA and Catherine PACHA, Pleasant Plain.
