Death Comes To Vincent DRISH

Vincent J. DRISH, life-time resident of Jefferson county, died about 4:30 a.m. today at the Sunnyslope Sanitarium in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA). He had been ill for the past 10 years and seriously ill for the past two months.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church with the Rev. O. F. DeCoursey and the Rev. Francis Henricksen in charge. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery at East Pleasant Plain. The Rosary will be recited at the Raymond funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Vincent J. DRISH, 64, was born June 1, 1897, on a farm in the Polishville community in northeast Jefferson county. He was the son of Frank and Mary DRISH and was reared and educated in the Polishville community.

On Oct. 4, 1924, he was married to Cecilia Irene KURTZ, who preceded her husband in death Nov. 30, 1961. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic church and lived his entire life in Jefferson county. He made his home in Fairfield for the past 35 years and was formerly employed at the Iowa Malleable Iron company.

He is survived by four sons: Ralph, Burlington; Paul who lives in Ottumwa; Clement, Ashville, N.C.; and Kenneth of Cedar Rapids; also 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Other survivors include two brothers, Frank and Lawrence DRISH, both of East Pleasant Plain; and four sisters, Mrs. Peter PECK, Richland; Mrs. Joseph PALDAUF, Mrs. Frank WIORA and Mrs. Agnes WIORA, all three of Chicago.

DRISH was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and one sister.
