PATRICIA R DESPAIN
Mendota, IL

Patricia R. DESPAIN,91, (sic) of Mendota died June 14, 2018 in Ottawa Pavillon. Graveside services for the family will be held on July 21st in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (note: in Mendota, LaSalle Co., IL) followed by a celebration of life.

Pat was born April 21, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa to George and Gladys (NORRIS) SCHROEDER. She married Robert DESPAIN on March 14, 1948 in Fairfield,, Iowa. (sic)

She was a 1945 graduate of Fairfield High School. She was a longtime employee of th (sic) Fairfield Glove Factory and Bell's Veterinary Clinic in Fairfield. She and her family moved to Mendota in 1966. She worked at Sears Appliance Store, Campbell's Cleaners, and Masters Wallpaper and Paint Store in Mendota. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Mendota Golf Club.

At the age of 80 she traveled on a grand adventure to Peru,South America (sic) to visit her AFS daughter Carmen SANCHEZ DeLaCRUZ. While in Peru she hiked the ancient Inca ruins of Machupicchu (sic). She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid golfer.

She is survived by one sister, Jean SIX of Fairfield, Iowa; two daughters; Kathy DESPAIN and Nancy MOEN both of Peru; one son, David and (Dr. Wendy Krupp) DESPAIN of Athens, Georgia; 2 grandsons, Mack MOEN of Eugene, Oregon and Marty MOEN of Lake Oswego, Oregon; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaci MOEN and Walker MOEN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Mary SCHROEDER, her sister, Janan NIXON, and her husband, Robert in 2003.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church in Mendota, Illinois Valley Animal Rescue in LaSalle, Lilly Pads in Peru or a favorite charity.
