David W. MULKINS, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and formerly of Fairfield, succumbed Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Henry County Health Center after suffering many years of declining health (note: in Henry Co., IA). As were his wishes his body had been cremated with no services planned at this time.

David was born June 24, 1942 in Jefferson County, IA to Eileen B. YOUNG MULKINS who, along with her husband Franz L. MULKINS raised him in Fairfield. He was educated in the local schools. David was young when he began a career with the Rock Island Railroad, which spawned a love of travel. He especially enjoyed riding the rails in the western parts of the United States. He was an avid photographer and his favorite subject was naturally, trains. Dave was also a gun enthusiast and enjoyed countless hours of target shooting in his younger years. He loved watching old western movies and typing up favorite lines from films and quotes from books.

David was preceded in death by his parents.
