Orval F. TIMMERMAN

The service for Orval F. TIMMERMAN, 88, 705 N. Court St., who died at 7:56 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sara Malone and the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Fairfield. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to Birmingham United Methodist Church.

TIMMERMAN was born Jan. 24, 1904, in Des Moines County, the son of Joe and Berth (sic) PELOGER TIMMERMAN. He married Ellen ROPPEL on April 26, 1931, in Mount Pleasant. She died Feb. 4, 1990. He lived in the Mount Pleasant area before moving in 1944 to Jefferson County, where he had lived since. He was a retired farmer and a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Donald L. of Fort Wayne, Ind., Lester J. of Cedar Rapids, O.E. Gene of Dallas, Texas, Charles R. of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Paul of Mount Union, Guey (sic) of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Margarett TIMMERMAN of Winfield, Marie GATES of Fort Madison and Edith DAY of Mount Pleasant. Three brothers, Roy, Carl, Glen, and a grandson preceded him in death.
