My name is spelled like Valeria Small. I am wondering how the town of Valeria Iowa got its name from Valeria Small. What was her influence for the town to be named after her. With her named spelled like that was she Russian decent? Usually the name is spelled Valerie. Thanks for any information you can give me. I do realize the town was formed as a railroad connector town. Possibly she was from a railroad family.
