Fate of the McFarlands

I am looking for more information on a Seymore/Seymour Mcfarland [his full name seems to have been James Seymore McFarland based on items found about his son w/ Elizabeth Dotson].

I have found him listed with parents in 1870 census in Sherman. His father's name is shown as initials, his mother, Elizabeth,with two sisters.
[ancestry has the father listed as I.B. McFarland - but it could be D.B. from what I saw on the census].

This census record noted that the parents were born in PA, Seymore was born 1851 in Ohio and the 2 daughters born in Illinois.

Seymore was noted in a bio for Charles A Dotson as married to his daughter Elizabeth A "Lizzie" and living in Chicago. I have found Chas and Lizzie in the 1880 in Chicago w/ 2 children and Lizzie divorced and alone in the 1900 census.

I have done inquiries on this site and nothing else about Seymore/Seymour or this McFarland family has been posted.

I believe Seymore may have died in Illinois about 1905, and I have traced Elizabeth, remarried and eventually living either w/ or near her younger sister, Julia Dotson Reese in Omaha. Last thing for Elizabeth was a listing in the 1936 Omaha Directory - she would have been 85.
