Funeral services for Mrs. Delbert (Dorothy A. Deaton, 65, of 412 W. 15th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1965, were held today, June 10, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. David McNeeley, pastor of the Hope Assembly of God Church in Colfax, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
She died Friday, June 7, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Gerald Adams of Fort Worth, Tex., and Merle Tim Deaton of Norfolk, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Debbie McNeeley of Newton, Mrs. Michael (Pam) Czerwiec of Monroe and Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Hansen of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Don Annis of Newton, Frank Annis of Round Rock, Tex., and Herb and Mick Annis, both of Colfax; and five sisters, Pearl Gearhart of Ira, Edith Peters of Corvallis, Ore., Berniece Vessels of Sacramento, Calif., Erma Kents of Downieville, Calif., and Joyce Patterson of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arlene Showalter Sept. 24, 1980.
Mrs. Deaton, a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church, had been employed at the Skiff Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1982.
The daughter of Frank and Maude Blaird Annis, she was born Jan. 15, 1920 in rural Colfax and was graduated from Colfax Community High School.
She was married April 12, 1946 in Troy, Kan.
