Funeral services for Robb B. White, 49, were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Murdoch funeral home by DeWitt S. Osgood of Des Moines. Burial was in the Palo Alto cemetery.
Music for the rites included two duet numbers, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Garden of Prayer,” sang by Albert Peterson and Mrs. Harry Roberts and a solo, “O Love That Will Not Let Me go,” by Miss Evelyn McDowell. At the grave, Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Roberts sang one verse of “Going Down the Valley One by One.”
Robb Bardwell White, eldest son of Audas and Anna White, was born in Albia, Ia., Feb. 26, 1886, and died at the University hospital in Iowa City July 28, 1935.
His earlier life was spent on a farm in the vicinity of Albia. He came to Newton in September, 1926, where he resided until his death.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Kephart Oct. 6, 1912, and to this union were born four children, Frances, Florence, Audas and Dean.
Although he had not placed his name on the church roll, he attended services regularly.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Walker of Hiteman, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Tucker of Hiteman and Mrs. Sophia Tucker of Fairfield and a half-brother, Ralph Walker of Albia. His father and a brother preceded him in death.
