Larry Boucher of Borrego Springs, California, former Mingo resident, died on July 3, 2003 of prostate cancer. As was his wishes, the body was cremated and there were no services.
Larry was born June 30, 1933 in Mingo. He was the first born child and son of Mike and NaOmi (Inglis) Boucher. Upon graduating in 1952 from Mingo High School he then entered the Navy for four years. After being honorably discharged, he worked 11 years for General Dynamics in San Diego, California. Then he switched professions and became a teaching golf pro. He continued that until his retirement in 1988. He then moved to the desert that he loved.
Larry married the late Grace Bully (nee) Grace Leonard in 1952 and of that union two daughters were born, Vicki and Cynthia. In 1969 Larry married Mary Godfrey. Larry was a life member of the PGA and belonged to the DeAnza Country Club in Borrego Springs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary of Borrego Springs; his daughter, Cynthia of San Diego; mother, NaOmi Boucher of Heritage Manor in Newton; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Russ Hale of West Des Moines; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kathy of Riverton, Wyoming; special friends, Danny and Janet Nichols of Newton; son-in-law, Brian Utley of Utah; several nieces and nephews and lots of friends and relatives both here in Iowa and in California.
Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki in October 2002, his father, an infant brother and a nephew.
