Funeral services for Harry J. Lewis, 51, owner and operator of Spirit Lake Construction Co., were Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15, 1977, at Wesley Place in Spirit Lake, He died unexpectedly Oct. 13.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; two daughters: Justeen Tusler of Spirit Lake, Marcheen Lowry of Omaha, Nebr.; one son: Harry Jeffery at home; three step-sons: Ted Yarnes of Estherville, Todd Yarnes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tim Yarnes of Bloomington, Minn.; his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lewis of Polk City, Ia.; and two brothers: Clifford of Ankeny, Ia., and Darwin of Mitchellville, Ia.; one sister: Edith Shepley of Bemidji, Minn., and three grandchildren.
Officiating at the services was Rev. Warren Paige, with music by Mrs. William Parriott. Pallbearers were Gary Hieronimus, Mike Baker, Brian Paulson, Clarence McCormick, Mark McCormick and Jerry Inbody. Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery, with military rites by V.F.W. Post 4514.
Born March 1, 1926 at Colfax, Ia., to Harry C. and Alice Lewis, he attended rural schools in that area and graduated from the Mingo High School. He served four years in the Army Air Force. He moved to the Spirit Lake area eight years ago. On June 15, 1973, he married Betty Yarnes.
