Donald Douglas - Captain Doug - Wagoner
1939-2025

Son of William Harold Wagoner I and Leila Frances Wells Wagoner Born on March 13th, 1939 in Newton Iowa. Passed away on February 19th, 2025 in Vallejo, California

Capt. Doug was a Merchant Marine Officer in the Vallejo area of San Francisco Bay.

For 40 years, Doug developed his business, Wagoner Maritime. Having a fleet of 7 boats, He was able to expand his business into, deep sea fishing, sight seeing in the Bay area, scattering the ashes of loved ones at sea, working with the California Department of Fish and Game Smolt program.

In addition to his Maritime business, he helped many elderly people who lived aboard their boats. Doing all kinds of maintenance work for them.
Even refurbishing 3 wheeled scooters so they could get around easier.

Capt. Doug was the go to person when anyone on the Vallejo Marina needed something done. He had many friends on the Marina and those he worked with.

Doug also worked many years in the United States Consulate Corps. Serving in Lagos, Nigeria, Banjul, The Gambia - a small country in West Africa, and Christchurch, New Zeeland. He had many interesting stories to share

Capt.. Doug passed away after long battle of Pulmonary Fibrosis,

Capt. Doug donated his body to the University of California at San Francisco, hoping they can find a cure for this terrible disease. His ashes will be scattered on San Francisco Bay by the Neptune Society.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Fran Wagoner.

Doug was preceded in death by his siblings, sister Sharonn Kay Wagoner Buckman,
Brother, William Harold - Bill - Wagoner II, sister Leila Jill Wagoner Halvorson all having passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis

He is survived by his younger brother Chuck (Shirleyanne) Wagoner, Daughter in law, Shelly (Kevin) McDonald, grandchildren Loren, Irie,
Julian, and many Nieces and Nephews, Haleigh, Heidi, Sage & Kaleb, Great grandson and many friends at the Vallejo Marina, and special friends Fred and Rayleen Baca, and Ruthie Lamos.
