If you cannot attend and wish to send a card, please address it to, "Attn: Paul Masters, Coburn Funeral Home, 24 W Howard St, Colfax, IA 50054."

The son of Orvile and Sarah (Den Otter) Masters, Paul was born at home in Newton on April 1, 1939. His birthday would announce to the world that he was a jokester and a people person through and through. Paul grew up in Monroe and enjoyed playing football, basketball, and a little baseball during his high school years. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1959. After graduation he proudly served our country for three years in the US Army. Once Paul came back to Iowa after being honorably discharged, he married Sharon James at the Monroe United Methodist Church on June 12, 1964.

During his life Paul worked various jobs and always brought his friendly personality. He didn't know a stranger, and you could often find him talking to someone he'd just met. Sharon recalled that Paul took a shy girl and brought the best out of her, turning her into a people person as well. In her words, he was good for her. Paul enjoyed singing and playing his guitar in his free time. He had a dry sense of humor that was appreciated by many. Above all things, Paul loved his family, especially Sharon, during the 61 years they'd spend married.

Those left to honor Paul's memory include his wife, Sharon (James) Masters; a sister, Eleanor Masters; a sister-in-law, Shirley Masters; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents, Orvile and Sarah (Den Otter) Masters; his parents-in-law, Homer James and Maxine (Jack) Atwood; two siblings, Eloise and Ralph Masters, brothers-in-law, Larry and Curt James; a sister-in-law, Barb (Bob) Engle; and a nephew, Clint Roberts.
