Clear Creek, July 3 – Special to The Daily News. - Funeral services were held this morning at 11 o;clock at the Ashton church for Robert Andrew Tripp. Rev. J. H. Hartshorn of the Latter Day Saints church of Des Moines presided at the rites.
A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Will Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Hawkins sang three selections, “Some Sweet Day Bye and Bye,” “In The Garden” and “There’ll Be No Disappointment in Heaven.” They were accompanied by Mrs. E. H. Harah at the piano.
Pallbearers were Frank Jones, Talli Jones, Zenus Jones, Charles Ray, Cliff Oyler and Thomas Morrison.
Robert Andrew Tripp, son of Robert and Elizabeth Strickler Tripp, was born near the present town of Mingo on July 24, 1878 and when just a small boy moved with his parents to Nebraska. They later came back to Iowa and the most of his life has been spent in Des Moines.
On Monday, June 30 he died suddenly of heart disease while he was employed in digging a cellar.
He was married in 1919 to Miss Alice Roffis. He united with the Christian church when he was 13 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Surviving him are his widow, two sisters, Mary Tripp and Mrs. Anna Fuller of Des Moines and one uncle, David Tripp of Colfax.
