Colfax, July 3 – Special – Funeral services for George Henry Hunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Hunter, were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. L. C. McDonald, officiating. Burial was in the Colfax cemetery.
A quartet composed of Mrs. Earl Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. VanDyke and B. H. Sandy sang three selections, “My Face Looks Up To Thee,” “Sometime We’ll Understand” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” They were accompanied on the pipe organ by Mrs. Cleo Wall. The flowers were in charge of Miss Pauline Garner, Mrs. Gus DeCamp and Mrs. Harry Gregg.
The pallbearers were Joe Pratt, William Pratt, Bob Oliver, Martin Luther, George Wall and Daniel McCarty.
George Henry Hunter, the son of George and Lina Hunter, was born in Colfax on Feb. 21, 1910 and died June 30, 1930 at the age of 20 years. He attended the public schools and the Methodist Episcopal Sunday school of Colfax.
He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Ruth and Helen, by two brothers, Harold and Abraham, who is now in England and by an aged grandmother and grandfather in England.
