Colfax – Mary A. Hartnett, 81, of Colfax, a longtime owner-operator of a Colfax restaurant, died this morning, Aug. 18, at Embassy Manor in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Colfax.
The Rev. Edward Susic, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax after noon Tuesday.
Memorial contributions to the Colfax Senior Citizens will be accepted.
Survivors are two daughters, Mary Ruth Hanna and Jeanne Hagge, both of Colfax; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irma Coulter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, two sisters and an infant sister and brother.
Mrs. Hartnett was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the church’s Altar and Rosary Society.
The daughter of Elbert and Clara Belle Redding Wheeler, she was born Nov. 23, 1904 in Colfax and was a 1923 graduate of Colfax Community High School.
She was married to Ernest Hartnett Sept. 17, 1922 in Colfax.
