Dr. F. A. Drown, Former Kellogg Veterinarian, Dies
Kellogg – Dr. F. A. Drown, 83, of 1405 W. Freeman, Carbondale, Ill., a veterinarian in Kellogg from 1916 to 1966, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dennis Trueblood in Carbondale, Ill.
Memorial services and cremation are pending.
Burial will be at Kellogg at a later date.
Also surviving are his wife, Zola; and son, Hugh Drown of Novato, Calif.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, and a sister, Lillian Hill of Orlando, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Dr. Drown, a member of the veterinarian corps during World War I, was a former 50-year member of the Kellogg Masonic Lodge and American Legion.
Dr. Drown, who has served in a number of Kellogg governmental offices, was honored in 1959 by the Amboy Grange for his service to area farmers.
The son of Ernest and Harriet Wiley Drown he was born Nov. 9, 1893 in Alfred, Maine.
He was graduated in veterinarian medicine in 1914 from a school in Grand Rapids, Mich., and was associated with an elderly veterinarian in northern Iowa for 2 years before coming to Kellogg.
He was married to Zola Craven on June 25, 1919 in Kellogg.

Drown Services Set for Spring
Kellogg – Memorial services for Dr. F. A. Drown, a former Kellogg resident, will be held around Easter at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
Memorial contributions in Dr. Drown’s name may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
He died recently at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dennis Trueblood in Carbondale, Ill.
