Margaret E. Paul, 79, of Newton died on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at MercyOne Johnston Hospice. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation. On Margaret’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private interment will be held at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to MercyOne Hospice, a charity of choice, or simply by paying it forward by doing a good dead for another in need.

Margaret, the daughter of Owen F. and Amy M. (Miller) Wright, was born June 14, 1941 in McGregor. She graduated from Garnavillo Community School District in 1959. In 1960, she graduated from cosmetology school in Des Moines. Margaret was united in marriage to James H. Paul on October 26, 1963, at the Congregational UCC Church in Newton. She worked in cosmetology for over 25 years and then more than 10 years in retail sales.

Margaret is survived by her husband; brother, Dale J. (Ethel) Wright; brother-in-law, Ned Loetz; her much loved nieces and nephews; and many in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ann C. Loetz.
