Bennett Child’s Funeral Is Set
Services for Michael Joseph Bennett, Jr., 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Bennett, 1103 Pennsylvania Ave., will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Caldwell-Brien Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
The child died of a congenital heart ailment Wednesday in Variety Club Heart hospital at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Surviving, besides the parents, are a brother, Jonathan Lloyd Bennett, 1; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd J. Bennett, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Oxley, all of Des Moines; the paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Keturah Bennett of Lovilia, and a step-great-grandmother, Mrs. Tillie Connett of Des Moines.
The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial in the form of contributions to the Variety Club Heart Hospital for heart research.
