Maribelle Hesson, 86, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 26, 2018, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Blessed Hope Church in Vinton with Rev. Matt Hantz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, and one hour prior to services on Friday. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Palo Alto Cemetery, Newton, Iowa.

Maribelle was born March 1, 1932, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Orin Arthur and Olive Lucille “Ollie” Spain Main. She graduated from Newton High School in 1950.

On December 17, 1950, Maribelle was united in marriage with Keith Edward Hesson in Newton, Iowa. She was a dedicated farm wife during her years on the farm with Keith until the couple moved to Vinton in 1969. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1991.

Maribelle worked as a secretary at Mossman Law Firm, Terra Fertilizer and REC. She also worked as a clerk at LaGrange Pharmacy and retired following her service there.

Maribelle was a member of Blessed Hope Church. She served as a 4-H leader and loved volunteering at Tilford Elementary School. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, music and sports, particularly watching her children and grandchildren play. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Maribelle is survived by two sons: Craig (Rose) Hesson of Shellsburg and Kevin (Deb) Hesson of Vinton; three daughters: Diane Hesson, Karen (Steve) Helms and Dana (Tom) Lane, all of Vinton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law: Bea Main of Palm Springs, CA; Shirley Pilgrim of Nevada; and JoAnn Hesson of Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith; one brother, Vernon Main; and one sister, Norma Jean Holdren.
