Mary E. Paul, former Jasper resident, dies
Monroe – Funeral services for Mary Ella Paul, 36, of Grinnell, a former Jasper County resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Friends church in Grinnell.
The Rev Del Coppinger of Newton will conduct services. Burial will be in Dunreath Cemetery south of Monroe.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe after 9 a.m. Friday.
Mrs. Paul died Tuesday at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Survivors are five children, Maria and Elainia Sanchez, and James Dean, Dawne Lea and Sherri Lynn Paul, all at home.
Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ernest Simbro; three brothers, the Rev. Ronald Simbro of Pacific, Mo., Jimmie D. Simbro of Grinnell and Charles Dennis Simbro, of Baldwin, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Sharon) Wetterling of Cadott, Wis.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Junior (Betty) Shinn of Knoxville, Mrs. Charles (Arlene) Hicks of Newton and Mrs. Levi (Viola) Deitrick of Monroe; three half-brothers, Raymond Simbro of Des Moines, Eugene Simbro of Knoxville and Burton Simbro of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and a half-brother, Le Roy Simbro.
Mrs. Paul was born Nov. 27, 1943 at Prairie City and moved to the Rock Creek Township area of Jasper County in the spring of 1951. She attended rural schools in Rock Creek Township and was a 1962 graduate of Grinnell-Newburg Community High School.
She was married to Samuel Sanchez and after his death, to Ronald A. Paul.
She had resided in Grinnell for the last five years.
