Des Moines – Charles R. Bullington, 69, of 2200 Logan, Des Moines, a former resident of Prairie City, died Saturday March 8, at his home.
Death was due to cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grandview Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, J. Lenora; two sons, Thomas of Des Moines and Raymond Dale of Prairie City; two daughters, Carole Drake of Des Moines and Nancy Cox of Newton; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Harry Dale Bullington of Des Moines, French L. Bullington of Jacksonville, Fla., and Olin Marion Bullington of Pittsburgh, Calif.; a sister, Elsie Cumpton of Des Moines; and a half-sister, Dorothy Mae Bullington of Des Moines.
Mr. Bullington, an employee of Armstrong Tire Co. for 20 years, previously had worked for Travis Trucking for 21 years.
He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Local 164 and chief union steward and was a veteran of World War II.
