Joe Tomljanovic Died in California Tues.
No Information Received As To Cause of Death
Mike Tomlonovic received word the last of the week from an undertaker in California, stating his son Joe Tomlonovic had died Thursday, Apr. 7th, and with a request as to what should be done with the body.
No particulars have been received as to the cause of his death.
Joe graduated from the Colfax schools and since that time has found employment in various parts of the United States. The past winter he has been in California, his brother Jasper also being there. At holiday time the boys sent their mother a generous amount of money and no recent word had been received until the message of the death came.
The body is being sent to Colfax, and will arrive at 8:57 this (Thursday) evening. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o’clock at the Immaculate Conception church.
To date they have been unable to locate Jasper, whom it is presumed left Joe to go on to work somewhere else in California.

Jasper Tomlonovic Died of Pneumonia
Wrong Identity Brought Word From California it Was His Brother Joe
The information given through this newspaper last week, about the death of Joe Tomlonovic, in California, proved to be incorrect, for when the body arrived here Thursday, it proved to be his younger brother, Jasper Tomlonovic.
Full information regarding Jasper’s death has not been received yet this week. But the word came last week that the young man had caught a heavy cold and was taken to the hospital, when it was found he was suffering from pneumonia, and which caused his death.
It seems the two brothers, Jasper and Joe, had been staying together and that Joe had left for another part of California to find work, and left all of his papers with Jasper and this probably explains why the California authorities got the names of the two boys mixed when they wired here telling of the death of Joe.
Jasper Tomlonovic, the third child of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Tomlonovic, passed away on Thursday, April 7th, 1932, at St. Jose, California, at the age of 24 years, 4 months, and 7 days, following a short illness of pneumonia.
He was a jovial sort of youth who was well liked and respected by everyone who knew him.
He attended the Colfax high school and graduated with the class of 1926. He was employed at the Newton Maytag factory for a short time, and then in Des Moines. For the remaining four years he has been in California.
His death came as a shock to his parents, relatives and a host of friends of whom he is survived.
Funeral services were held Friday morning, April 15th, at the Immaculate Conception church with the Rev. T. V. Lawlor officiating.
High mass was sung by Mrs. George Roehrig.
The pall bearers were James Mindham, Elane Sappe, Joseph Tomlonovic, Andrew Weresh, Earl DuRocher and Norman Wallace.
Interment was held at Oak Hill cemetery.
