Leona “Lee” M. Woody Metz, 66, of Newton, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at her home in Newton.
Lee’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton.
Memorials to the National Kidney Foundation may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home please add, Attn: Metz Family on the envelope.
Those left to cherish Lee’s memory are her husband, John of Newton; daughter, Bethany (Gary, Jr.) Pyle of Omaha, Neb.; her three grandchildren, Alyssa Pyle, Brianna Pyle and Gary Pyle III; siblings, Lois (Glenn) Shunk of Newton, Leonard (Becky) Woody of Newton and LaVonne (Dan) Perkins of Newton; her mother-in-law, Gail Poston of Newton; brothers-in-law, Tom (Coby) Metz of Newton and Rick (Denise) Poston of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Althea Walker Woody.
