Anita Louise McGovern
MAY 20, 1963 – FEBRUARY 25, 2018

Anita Louise McGovern, 54, of Flower Mound, Texas passed away on February 25, 2018 surrounded by her entire family. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1963 to Ronald Corbett and Mary Corbett. She graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Iowa in 1981, where she met her beloved husband of 36 years, Hugh McGovern. She spent over 20 years working at Xerox in Texas where she built life-long friendships with her co-workers. Anita's passion was her time with her family and friends. She loved weekends swimming with her grandsons. Her pool parties brought all her family and friends together. She was active and loved spending time on her motorcycle with her husband riding with close friends. Even through her long battle, she always put other people first, which included taking care packages to the homeless on her trips to Houston and downtown Dallas during her treatment.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart Hugh McGovern, daughters Sara McGovern Johnson and Nicole McGovern, sons Joey McGovern and his fiancé' Lindsay Apke and Josh McGovern and his wife Allie McGovern, brother Ron Corbett and sisters Denise Hayden and Angie Condon, sister-in-law Melissa McGovern Prill and husband Fred Prill and niece Livi Prill, and brother-in-law PJ McGovern. She is also survived by her mother Mary Corbett, her father Ronald Corbett and his wife Cindy Corbett and mother-in-law Mary McGovern. She also leaves four grandsons, Aiden, Aaron, Adam and Ethan and soon to be her namesake granddaughter Mia Louise McGovern who will be here in June. She also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death recently by her father-in-law Patrick J. McGovern. Funeral will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, Texas.
