Marie A. Wall, 93, of Story City, and formerly of Rock Creek Lake near Kellogg, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the Bethany Life Community in Story City. A family service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at Rock Creek Cemetery near Kellogg. Rev. James Dotson will officiate. Memorials in Marie’s name may be directed to the American Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Marie was born Dec. 3, 1923, near Kelley, to Roy and Clarice Flowers Golay. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. She was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Robinette in Missouri and to this marriage was born three children, Ronald, Michael and Vicki. The family operated a dairy farm near Collins, and she was a homemaker. She was later married to James Wall in Newton, and the couple made their home at Rock Creek Lake.

During her life, Marie enjoyed fishing at the lake, tending to her flower garden, playing the harmonica, card games, singing, bowling and riding her horse “Maverick.”

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Delores) Robinett of Mitchellville, Michael (Barbara) Robinett of Collins and Vicki (Ken) Krausman of Collins; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren (with one on the way); one brother, Jim Golay of LaMiranda, Calif.; and two sisters, Kay Yeager and Marilyn Carpenter, both of Coon Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Bill, Ernie, Paul, Robert, Dick and Chuck; and three sisters, Edna Doubleday, Nancy Johnson and Ruth Floden; and one grandson. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Fri 01 Dec 2017.
