Colfax Woman Succumbs at Local Hospital
Colfax – Mrs. Jake Gearhart, 46, of Colfax, died Sunday morning at 11:45 o’clock at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton where she had been a patient since Mar. 19, suffering from a heart disease and complications. She had been in declining health the past years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Catholic church in Colfax Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock, with Father Cahalan in charge. Interment will be in the McKeever cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Gearhart moved to the Goddard community from Cresco, Ia., eleven years ago.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Miss Gladys McMahon; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Hafkovec of Lime Springs, and Mrs. Walter Seda of Austin, Minn.; and four brothers, Charles Ranc of Lime Springs, Frank Ranc of Cresco, Mike Ranc of Geneva and Joe Ranc, whose address is unknown at the present time.
