Delmer Leroy Currier, age 86 of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friend from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes

The son of Roy and Nettie (Skinner) Currier, Delmer was born on October 9, 1931, in Bancroft, South Dakota. Delmar graduated as Valedictorian of his class at Bancroft High School. On June 26, 1955 he was united in marriage to Eunice Geiman at the Methodist Church in Bancroft. He was a member of the Monroe Baptist Church. Delmer loved to serve others. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, tractors, traveling and parades. He also served as a Boy Scout leader.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Eunice; two daughters, Sheryl Currier and Donna Stangl; two sons, Steve Currier and Everett Currier; nine grandchildren, Billy (Tanya), Sheila ( Morgan), Danielle (Earl), Eli, Katherine, Abigail, Kassandra, Damian, and Ella; and seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Laura, Noah, Ethan, Emmagrace, Allie and Gus. Also surviving is a sister, Rose Grothe and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ellen Jean, and two brothers, James and Robert. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Monroe, IA Thurs 12 Oct 2017.
